To assess your application, you will be asked to provide ID and contact details for three-character references, in addition we must consider up to date financial statements and proof of income.

Yes we do credit checks, but it is only part of the application.  We treat each application individually and understand that we all can hit speed bumps along the way in life.  We have even approved people who have been bankrupt in the past. So we encourage you to talk to us if you have concerns about your credit history.

Your due date will be 14 days after signing your contract. We will work with you to select the best debit date to suit your budget.

All payments must be made via direct debit from your financial institution’s account or using our Commonwealth BPoint payment system.

Here are some simple tips to help you save:

  • Pay on time – Avoid paying additional interest, avoid late fees and protect your credit score.
  • Pay a little extra when you can – Even small extra payments can reduce the interest you pay overall.
  • Choose weekly payments – Paying weekly instead of fortnightly lower interest because you’re reducing your balance more often.
  • Remember, interest is calculated daily – So the sooner you make payments, the more you save on interest.

Returning goods within the fixed term may not always be possible, however reach out to our team and discuss your individual circumstances.

When you sign your finance agreement, you become the legal owner of the goods. But until you’ve paid the full amount, 1st Choice still has a legal right to them. This means you can use the goods, but we may take them back if you don’t make your payments. Once everything is paid off, our claim is removed, and the goods are completely yours.
